Location: Sossusvlei, Namibia
About: These days it's rare for the pans of Sossusvlei to see the rain. Every seven years or so there may be enough to bring the desert to life with a carpet of flowers. Most of us though will only have the chance to see the Vlei like this - white and red, the lakes nothing more than memories.
